With another Saturday of SEC basketball action in the books, bracketologists everywhere are updating their NCAA Tournament predictions.
On Sunday, the most-prominent bracketologist — ESPN’s Joe Lunardi — updated his projections, somewhat surprisingly keeping Tennessee as a No. 1 seed after a loss at LSU.
As you can see below, the Vols are still one of the four No. 1 seeds, with Kentucky holding onto a No. 2 seed:
- Tennessee — No. 1 seed (Midwest)
- Kentucky — No. 2 seed (South)
- LSU — No. 4 seed (East)
- Mississippi State — No. 6 seed (Midwest)
- Auburn — No. 8 seed (West)
- Ole Miss — No. 8 seed (South)
- Florida — No. 10 seed (Midwest)
- Alabama — No. 12 seed (South)
- South Carolina — Next Four Out
Lunardi has the Gamecocks as one of his “Next Four Out” teams. Considering they hadn’t been mentioned previously, this is a big step forward for Frank Martin’s squad.
Another big week of action is upcoming, so we’ll see how that affects future projections.
