Alabama fan files FCC complaint against Fox Sports analyst
Roll Tide.
Alabama’s rabid fanbase doesn’t take getting called out lightly.
One Crimson Tide enthusiast filed a FCC complaint against Fox Sports analyst Clay Travis because he used a “public forum” — also known as his weekly column — to “engage in libelous and slanderous statements.”
Hailing from Montevallo, Alabama, the angered fan claims that non-public/private individuals are “unable to defend themeselves in an equal manner due to the lack of a public forum afforded to someone of Richard Clay Clavis’ profession and employment.”
True story.
Travis laughed it off and posted a screenshot of the complaint on Twitter:
How great is this? An Alabama fan filed an FCC complaint against me. For making fun of Bama online. pic.twitter.com/CIAnW0BzXz

Lol….over and over again!
I hate to disparage Alabama fans but they make it so hard!
UGA has fans worse than this but nobody pays attention to UGA or their fans. The lime light follows winners so UGA is safe.
Ummmm, no.
Idiot alert!
Not even close dude. Almost every SEC team is worse than Georgia.
It’s hard to not make fun of us when we have idiots like this one. Jeez.
Well, a slightly different take would be Alabama has one of the most diverse fan bases of any university in the world. This is just more proof that diversity of intellect is alive and well for the University of Alabama. Congratulations, I think.
Sorry, should have been “for the University of Alabama’s fan base.”
It would be a different take, but not an accurate take. Unless you are just agreeing that bama has idiot fans – just like every other team.
Well, that was a dumb ass comment. Try reading the comment. Not hyping a team, not agreeing with “idiot fans,” and I am not “another team.”
Well thanks, I think? Haha I get what you mean though. I’m sure the same can be said about any other SEC team.
Don’t sweat it, man…every single team has loonies in their fan base, and anyone who says different is either deeply delusional or should be included in the loony count, haha.
Travis, “you ask for it” !
The Bama fans are the worst in the world…poorest sports ever. If anyone says anything not complimentary, they take it personally and sue, shoot, kill our threaten them.
The worst thing about it is that nationally, they make the entire state of Alabama look even worse…
Considering the state of Alabama is just about split between these two teams or maybe even leans more towards Bama. You’ve insulted half if not most of the people in your own state. Also when you say “The worst thing about it is nationally, they make the entire state of Alabama look EVEN WORSE … ” I can’t tell if you hate Alabama the team as much as ALABAMA the State. Either your a troll or a self loathing idiot…or both.
LOL!!! Are you kidding me???? AN Aubren fan?? I have lived in this state for 50 years, you have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on UA fans. Get over yourself….moron hypocrite….
Bama fans are worse than Aub fans, probably bc there are more of them. Not always of course. I knew 1 who refused to take his animals to the vet because most vets in the state went to Auburn, and he didn’t want to pay anyone that might support that school.
They have some bad fans, but certainly not the worst. I love the rivalry in the state – there is none other like it. And that is from someone the lived through the Texas-Texas A&M rivalry (when it was hot). Umm, also known as TeaSips-Aggies rivalry. That used to be the second best rivalry.
Montevallo…guess that rules out Phyllis
Cry babies.
People forget Alabama doesn’t have any Pro teams, so they really go overboard with their college teams, which is understandable.
Then that would be the same for Arkansas, Oaklahoma, Kentucky, ND, SD, Wyoming, Nebraska, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, etc. Alabama (southern football for that matter) is part of our heritage, part of our sense of community. Starts at a young age and brings us together. State of Alabama is crazy about college football because we love it not because it’s all we have. If there was a market for a pro team then there would be one. As more northerners move down and populate southern areas then they get pro teams because they support that market.
A bunch of northerners in the south won’t bring NFL teams down here. Just look at Atlanta and Florida. They’re both full of northerners that just talk trash about how the south sucks and how much better the north is and their brand of football. They never become Falcons, Jags, Buccaneers, or Dolphins fans; they just become trash talking transplants that still support only northern teams and everything northern. I wish they’d stay up there with their bad food, bad attitudes, and ugly women.
I agree with most of what you are saying. Except the football part. Some do switch teams but your right most don’t become fans of their new home team. But they ATTEND the games especially when teams from their old conference come to town. They attend games because most don’t care about CFB that much but they’ve always been NFL fans. . A dolphin game fills up when they play Teams from the North east. Not a good example cause Miami has never been a southern town. Atlanta and New Orleans only became decent teams once the population of these two cities grew with the influx of transplants and their money. North Carolina has been over run by northerners from Boone to Raleigh Durham, south even then they had to market South Carolina to get the numbers, Jacksonville Fla finally got a team when they cleaned up their cities paper mills and northern companies moved in like locust. I was living there at the time. Tampa wasn’t successful until they joined the NFC North (central) because the west coast of Florida is where the heaviest migration of Midwesterners have migrated. All in the last 20 years or so as the northerners have migrated south and have reached retirement age. Oilers moved to Memphis and had the lowest opening game attendance in NFL history until they moved to Nashville. Guess what was happening to Nashville 20 years ago. I lived in North Mississippi when that happened. That also had to do with Memphis being a basketball town but they have a large metro area that includes Arkanas and Mississippi. Ithe way I’ve seen.
I also agree I wish they would not come south or at least not try and change it when they do. Be thankful though that the target state isn’t Georgia anymore. It’s Florida still, NC, Tennessee and the latest targets are South Carolina, and Alabama’s gulf coast. It kills me to think that Orange Beach and Gulf Shores is the next “target” for northern refugees to ruin.
You know, I would say it is the opposite. We don’t have any pro teams because we have the best football at the college level and don’t need or want multi-millionaire players playing less exciting football – just multi-millionaire coaches!
clay travis is a ROOSTERFISH to strt with catch him in a parkin lt an whoop his ass,,,,,good nuff !,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ROLL TIDE !
Nobody assumes Alabama fans are educated
Lol. Did your Uncle Daddy teach you that?
Clay Travis is an insignificant pipsqueak and sports muckraker. His opinion is rooted in jealousy (Travis is a Vandy grad, the SEC’s perriennial doormat). He is a deciple of Paul Finebaum. The Finebaum Show is heard daily on the SEC Network and is a sham. Finebaum himself is an antagonist – a yellow journalist (emphasis on yellow) – who deliberately baits his audience to generate moronic phone calls from his embacillic listeners/viewers. The call-in show was based in Alabama before going national and many of his callers are carry-overs. They are in no way representative of any team’s fan base. Travis bases his sophomoric diatribes on the Finebaum Show. He relishes in distortion (see above: muckraker, yellow journalist). This is nothing new, it’s his pattern. He is green with envy, and the more he kicks and screams, the more we Alabama fans smile. His article literally amplifies his nail-biting anxiety over Alabama’s winning ways. Eat your heart out, Travis!
