It’s that time of year again – Alabama and LSU will butt heads at Bryant-Denny Stadium in the 80th installment of their coveted annual rivalry this Saturday, and much is at stake for both teams entering the Week 11 matchup. While No. 7 Alabama’s playoff fate hangs in the balance, No. 4 LSU looks to further climb the polls and remain undefeated.

Fans who have held off purchasing tickets will be delighted to find that prices are steadily dropping on the secondary market ahead of Saturday’s kickoff. Blame it on Jeb Bush cancelling his tailgate in Tuscaloosa or the notable spike in inventory, but Alabama vs LSU tickets are now the least expensive they have been since early-October.

According to TiqIQ, the average ticket price for Saturday’s showdown is now $314.07, marking a 21.4% drop from last Tuesday’s peak average of $399.64. Such a big slide is due to the notable rise in the number of tickets, which has jumped from just above 1,000 last Tuesday to over 1,400 in the last week. That being said, prices will likely continue drop mildly from now until Saturday, so fans will be taking advantage of a descending resale price trend. The cheapest ticket to Saturday’s game is currently $172.

In fact, this weekend’s game is considerably cheaper than last season’s affair in Baton Rouge. The two teams met at Tiger Stadium last November and averaged a $460.50 ticket on the secondary market. That makes this Saturday 31.7% less expensive on average. The Crimson Tide were able to fend off the Tigers in overtime last year, 20-13, to claim their fourth straight victory over LSU.

Alabama’s wavering playoff hopes may be affecting the drop in price, and Saturday’s game is now less expensive than the last game in Tuscaloosa in 2013. That year tickets averaged $332.41 on the secondary market, marking a 5.5% tumble for this weekend’s matchup.

Those taking advantage of the falling ticket prices will also find plenty of deals on flights and hotels on Hipmunk.com. Hotels in Tuscaloosa on Hipmunk start at just $38 per night. Many Airbnb listings are also available within walking distance to Bryant-Denny Stadium via Hipmunk.

While the Tigers have kicked it into a new gear this year, a loss Saturday will keep the Crimson Tide afloat in the SEC West and relevant in the playoff picture. LSU running back Leonard Fournette will meet Alabama’s renowned defense that ranks third in the nation in run defense with 78.5 yards per game behind Michigan (74.9 yards per game). Expect the ground game to be near obsolete this weekend, as LSU possesses the sixth best run defense with 93.7 yards per game.
