Alabama website pranks Tennessee fans
Lane Kiffin remains quite unpopular among Tennessee fans.
Kiffin coached the Volunteers in 2009, but left after one season to become the head coach at Southern Cal. The move infuriated Tennessee fans, many of whom felt betrayed.
Now Kiffin is Alabama’s offensive coordinator. The Crimson Tide play the Volunteers on Saturday, and the website bamahammer.com decided to play a prank on Tennessee fans who remain bitter towards their former coach.
With the help of several Crimson Tide fans, Bama Hammer set up a phone number with a Los Angeles area code, using Google Voice, and leaked word on Twitter that it was Kiffin’s phone number. Messages for Kiffin poured in from Volunteers fans.
Many of the messages simply said, “Go Vols!” Most were short. One caller said, “I hate you so very much.” One man left his message while doing an impersonation of Cleveland Brown from the TV show “Family Guy.”
There was even one caller who told the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator that he bets Kiffin’s dog doesn’t like him, among other things.
Not surprisingly, some of the messages were also obscene, or at least not suitable for work, and some words had to be censored before being posted on the site.

Alabama (6-1) battles Tennessee (3-3) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The game will be shown on CBS.
