It’s scary to think about but the next Manning QB could be the best one yet.

If Arch Manning is able to match the hype, that may not be such a ridiculous statement to make looking back.

Manning, the highest-rated quarterback prospect in the nation for the 2023 recruiting cycle, recently sat down for an interview with Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports and noted he models his approach and his game after his famous uncles, Peyton and Eli.

“Obviously I watch my uncles and my grandfather,” Manning said. “They’re the ultimate competitors. I mean the way they go about their business, Peyton the way he attacks the film room and outside of football and then Eli the way he can be clutch and never really get fazed, I look up to that a lot and take after that.

“My grandfather especially, he’s a little different with the way he played quarterback from his two sons, he can scramble around the pocket and how he kind of respects the game. He’s been around a while and keeps up with everyone and he’s just a great guy and great guy to have in the football community.”

In addition to learning from some of the best to ever grace the field in the SEC, the young Manning also likes to study his generation’s most popular quarterback in the NFL, Pat Mahomes.

“Just how they impact their own offenses so much,” Manning said when discussing what he likes from Mahomes. “Mahomes can make every throw on the field with his dramatics and moves around and Trevor he just reminds me a lot of Peyton. He has total command of the offense. Those two things I like to put in my game for sure.”

Just when you thought the Arch Manning hype couldn’t get any bigger, comparisons to Mahomes may soon be coming for the junior from New Orleans.
