The 2018 season is still a few weeks away, but the preseason predictions are starting to roll in.

On Monday, Athlon Sports projected every 2018-19 bowl game, and unsurprisingly, 10 SEC squads were projected to qualify for postseason play.

As you can see below, Alabama and Georgia were expected to repeat as College Football Playoff participants, but the projected title game has a very familiar feel to it:

  • Texas Bowl: LSU vs. TCU
  • Music City Bowl: South Carolina vs. Maryland
  • Belk Bowl: Mizzou vs. Virginia Tech
  • Liberty Bowl: Kentucky vs. Oklahoma State
  • Gator Bowl: Texas A&M vs. Notre Dame
  • Outback Bowl: Purdue vs. Florida
  • Citrus Bowl: Mississippi State vs. Michigan State
  • Sugar Bowl: Auburn vs. Oklahoma
  • College Football Playoff Orange Bowl: Georgia vs. Clemson
  • College Football Playoff Cotton Bowl: Alabama vs. Ohio State
  • College Football Playoff Championship: Alabama vs. Clemson

Ole Miss is in the final year of a two-year bowl ban, and the Rebels are joined by Arkansas, Tennessee and Vanderbilt as the only SEC teams to not make a bowl.

Obviously, summer practices will shift these projections a bit, but for now, it’s an interesting look at how things stand ahead of next week’s SEC Media Days.
