The rivalry between Utah and BYU is called ‘The Holy War’ — and for good reason.

The two schools are exceptionally bitter foes. Familial ties weave in and out of both institutions throughout the state. If one is a resident in the state of Utah, more often than not, the allegiance is to one of these two programs.

Utah won this hotly-contested game by a score of 20-19 — when the Utes foiled BYU’s two-point conversion attempt with less than a minute remaining.

As the contest ended, the crowd at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City erupted. Thousands of fans ran onto the field in a joyous manner to celebrate the victory.

Reporter Shannon Spake found Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham for some postgame comments. As the exchange concluded, he offered a parting compliment before leaving.

It’s pretty hysterical.
