BCS simulation shows how top teams would rank in old system entering Week 14
If the Bowl Championship Series selection system was still in place, how different would the college football landscape look at this point in the season?
It turns out it wouldn’t be much different at all.
BCSKnowHow continues to release weekly BCS simulations that show how the old system would currently rank the top teams in the country. And in this week’s simulation, the same four teams would be in the College Football Playoff in the exact order of the most recent CFP rankings — LSU, Ohio State, Clemson and Georgia.
Just like the CFP rankings, Alabama comes in behind that group at No. 5.
However, things could change in the upcoming weeks as the College Football Playoff selection committee could have a difficult decision to make as several teams may have a case for the fourth and final spot in the Playoff.
For now, here are the full BCS simulations for the week, per BCSKnowHow:
Here it is, our pre-Thanksgiving simulated #BCS, which sets up the storylines for the final two weeks of the season. The top five remain the same, but Ohio State eats up more than half of the distance between itself and No. 1 LSU while Utah jumps four spots in two weeks: pic.twitter.com/GSJ1TRFQlx
