Jalen Hurts will be under a lot of scrutiny when the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in Super Bowl 59.
The former Alabama and Oklahoma star has had an up-and-down season for the Eagles, but is coming off a strong showing against the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game 2 weeks ago.
Perhaps even more so than star RB Saquon Barkley, Hurts’ performance on Sunday evening will be the key to whether the Eagles win or lose.

My Favorite Jalen Hurts Super Bowl 59 Prop Bets
Under 27.5 pass attempts (-118)
Even in the high-scoring NFC Championship Game against the Commanders, Hurts only attempted 28 passes. I expect this game to be much closer on the scoreboard, but it still seems likely that the Eagles will try to control the ball on the ground, both with Saquon Barkley and Hurts running the ball.
Anytime TD scorer (-115)
All this takes is 1 tush push. 1 brotherly shove. Hurts ran for 3 scores in the NFC title clash. It seems likely he’ll get another one at some point against the Chiefs. There are all sorts of ways to get the ball down to the 1- or 2-yard line, including pass interference in the end zone. When the Eagles have the ball down there, it’s almost a guarantee that Hurts will get at least 1 attempt to find pay dirt.
Exactly 1 pass TD (+165)
Hurts threw for exactly 1 touchdown 7 times this year, including against the Commanders 2 weekends ago. When the Eagles get to the red zone, they feature a steady diet of run plays. Yes, the Chiefs have Chris Jones anchoring their defensive line, but Philly should still be able to get creative to run the ball to the end zone. Thus, I’ll take Hurts to throw for only 1 touchdown.

The Eagles are the best in the business at that. I think he finds pay dirt at least once with his legs on Sunday.
Jalen Hurts higher than 9.5 rush attempts
In addition to finding the end zone with his legs, I think Hurts will get plenty of rushing volume. The Eagles’ offense is more than just Saquon Barkley, after all. Hurts has had 10+ carries 9 times this season, including in the NFC title game. He’ll be running early and often against the Chiefs’ aggressive defense on Sunday. Plus, kneel downs count as carries, so if you think the Eagles will win the game, this is an even better pick.
