This week’s best play call comes to us from the mind of No. 13 Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo in his team’s 35-32 win over Tennessee Saturday. Trailing 10-0, the Bulldogs had possession on Tennessee’s 3-yard line.

Todd Gurley willed Georgia down the field with several impressive runs and was a key focus for the Vols defense. While the announcers predicted the junior tailback would more carries in the red zone, Bobo capitalized on Tennessee’s pressure and called for Hutson Mason to keep possession on a play action QB keeper. The play can be seen below at the 0:52 mark:

The touchdown marked the first score for the Bulldogs, who outscored the Vols 21-7 in the first half after facing a 10-0 deficit. While Mason struggled passing the ball, Bobo capitalized on a run-heavy offense for the remainder of the contest that saw Gurley rush for a career-best 208 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries.
