Sporting News’ lead college football writer Matt Hayes took a crack at ranking the best stadium experiences in the country.

Obviously, Hayes’ ranking was limited to the incredible venues he’s covered during his career, but it comes at no surprise the SEC dominated the top five, landing three of the five best in college football.

LSU’s Tiger Stadium tops the ranking, while Kyle Field and Sanford Stadium are both ranked in the top five. The Swamp could stand to move up the ranking should the Gators return to glory. Rounding out the top 15 is Bryant-Denny Stadium, home to Alabama.

Here are Hayes’ top 15:

1. Tiger Stadium (LSU Tigers)
2. Rose Bowl (UCLA Bruins)
3. Kyle Field (Texas A&M Aggies)
4. Sanford Stadium (Georgia Bulldogs)

5. Notre Dame Stadium (Notre Dame Fighting Irish)
6. Ohio Stadium (Ohio State Buckeyes)
7. Ben Hill Griffin Stadium (Florida Gators)
8. Camp Randall Stadium (Wisconsin Badgers)
9. Autzen Stadium (Oregon Ducks)

Hayes notes the ‘pregame festivities and the mind-numbing noise’ is what helps set LSU’s Tiger Stadium apart from the rest. He notes the Reveille, the Corps of Cadets and noise at Kyle Field, while Georgia’s entire gameday experience screamed college football.
