Remaining Big 12 programs lacking options? Pac-12 reportedly not eager to poach what's left of the league
As Texas and Oklahoma are planning to make their way to the SEC, some Big 12 fans are calling for the remaining eight programs in the league to jump to the Pac-12.
There’s just one problem with that idea.
Who says the Pac-12 wants any part of the eight programs (Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech and West Virginia) that remain in the Big 12?
That’s something that former NFL lineman and current Pac-12 radio host for SiriusXM radio Geoff Schwartz pointed out to fans calling for a Big 12-Pac-12 merger recently.
After participating in Pac-12 Media Days this week, Schwarz claims he couldn’t find anyone there that wanted to join forces with the remaining Big 12 programs.
I just spent 10 hours at Pac12 media day. Not a single person in that conference wants a Big12 team in the league. So while merging with the Pac12 might be best, it doesn’t work if the conference doesn’t want any of the remaining teams. https://t.co/5OdDbnJCdI

The more realistic option, according to Schwartz, would be a Pac-12 and Big Ten merger.
Everyone discussed finding ways to merge or partner with the Big Ten

A union between the Big Ten and the Pac-12 makes sense, as the two conferences each send their champions to the Rose Bowl at the end of the season, provided that those teams aren’t in the College Football Playoff.
