Clemson is in Florida this morning. The Tigers were anticipating a game against Florida State on Saturday afternoon.

The game was set to kick off at noon Eastern time, but just 3 hours before kickoff, the ACC announced the game had been postponed.

In a release from the league, there was some unusual wording. The release didn’t cite COVID-19 outbreaks in either program as the reason for the postponement. Instead, it was a disagreement between medical experts:

The postponement follows this morning’s game conference call at which time both teams’ medical personnel were unable to mutually agree on moving forward with the game.

That’s certainly unusual, and it’s a brutal way to have your game canceled, especially after you already traveled.

We’ll see if more comes from this unusual situation.
