The SEC has added a number of high-profile coaches to its ranks over the past few years. Then, of course, there’s still Nick Saban, the coach with the most national championships in FBS history.

So, who are the best current coaches heading into the 2022 season? Sporting News writer Bill Bender recently broke it all down, ranking all 131 FBS coaches.

As you can see below, he has 4 SEC coaches in his top 10, with Nick Saban at No. 1, Kirby Smart at No. 3, Brian Kelly at No. 6 and Jimbo Fisher at No. 8:

Dabo Swinney at No. 2, Ryan Day at No. 4 and Luke Fickell at No. 5 round out the top 5 in Bender’s rankings.

Will Saban add title No. 8 to his resume this year? Or will Fisher or Smart win their second? Or, will someone else lift the Playoff trophy at the end of the year?
