Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk has been suspended for the rest of the season for undisclosed disciplinary reasons.

Mauk returned to the team last week after missing the last four games while suspended for an undisclosed violation of team rules, and resumed practicing with the Tigers. But on Sunday, he was suspended again, and will now sit out the rest of Missouri’s season.

Missouri was off on Saturday, so Mauk didn’t get to play in between his two suspensions.

Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel did not say why Mauk has been suspended again.

“I don’t talk about disciplinary issues. I know you want more information,” he told the Columbia Daily Tribune Sunday afternoon.

“What we did here was exactly like I’ve always done it,” Pinkel added. “That’s what we do. We don’t overlook things. We don’t cover things up. We do what’s right. A lot of other places would try to find ways to get the problem solved without doing what we do.”

Before getting suspended, Mauk threw for 654 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions in Missouri’s first four games.

Without Mauk, the Tigers have struggled, losing their last three games. They have not scored a touchdown since their 24-10 win over South Carolina on Oct. 3, the first game Mauk missed, and have scored a total of 12 points in their last three games.

Freshman Drew Lock has quarterbacked the Tigers in their last four games. He has thrown for 538 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the last four contests.

Missouri (4-4, 1-4 in the SEC) hosts No. 24 Mississippi State (6-2, 2-2) on Thursday at 9 p.m. Eastern on ESPN.
