The CBS Sports analysts have been making picks throughout the 2024 college football season, and that continues into championship weekend.
One of the biggest games this weekend is the rematch in the SEC Championship Game between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Texas Longhorns. Georgia won that game 30-15 in Austin, and the defensive line dominated the game.
The Bulldogs finished that game with 7 sacks, and held the Longhorns to only 29 rushing yards on 27 carries. Despite that result in Austin, there is a disagreement among the analysts when it comes to who wins this game.
“These last four weeks – 11 touchdowns, only one interception… (Carson Beck’s) decision making is better.”@AaronTaylorCFB says Carson Beck’s improvement will help @GeorgiaFootball take down Texas again in Atlanta for the SEC crown pic.twitter.com/owhF8VmvXt

“Carson Beck was a real problem for this offense with the dropped balls and the lack of rushing, but these last 4 weeks, he has 11 touchdowns and 1 interception,” Aaron Taylor said. “Something happened after the Florida game. His interception was on a 4th-and-10 in the 4th quarter on a tipped ball against Ole Miss. His decision-making has been better.”
However, his colleague Brian Jones is going with the Longhorns.
“You’re going to see a more explosive Texas offense. If Ewers can play as well as he did last week – minus the INT and the fumble – they’re gonna be just fine.”@JonesN4mo is taking @TexasFootball to win the SEC title game vs. the Dawgs pic.twitter.com/O0c4lIcHxj
