The picks are in from CBS Sports Network’s “Inside College Football” for Saturday’s big game against No. 2 Alabama and No. 3 Georgia. The matchup could go a long way in determining the course of the remaining SEC season and has the potential to have ramifications for the College Football Playoff race.

“Part of me thinks that this game is going to come down to big plays…With Alabama’s deepened group of receivers and a balanced running game with Najee Harris,” said Aaron Taylor. “Georgia’s going to play them close, but Kirby (Smart) is going to end up with another tombstone with all the other assistants and souls in Nick Saban’s assistants’ graveyard.”

“I think Georgia’s offense is going to be less interrupted than is the norm when you play Alabama,” Rick Neuheisel added. “I’m going to say 21 and done. Kirby Smart and Georgia find a way to win this week in Tuscaloosa.”

“I really believe that this is going to be the game where (Georgia gets) over the top,” said Randy Cross. “Kirby Smart and company get a win against Alabama in Tuscaloosa.”

“Bama’s D is going to feel like it’s gone back to the Stone Age after facing that up-tempo, futuristic offense they had to line up against there in Oxford,” said Brian Jones. “I think Georgia is the better team, ultimately, in this one…I’m running out of superlatives to heap upon this Georgia defense.”

The SportsLine projection favored Alabama by a 29-23 score.
