CBS Sports expert Jerry Palm makes final SEC bowl projections
Before Sunday is over, we’ll know where teams are playing this postseason.
But, before we get to that point, a number of experts are releasing their final bowl projections, and on Sunday morning, CBS Sports expert Jerry Palm updated his predictions.
Palm has LSU staying in the No. 2 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings and playing Clemson. Here’s where he has the rest of the SEC squads playing:
Alabama
- Citrus Bowl vs. Michigan
Auburn
- Outback Bowl vs. Minnesota
Florida
- Orange Bowl vs. Virginia
Georgia
- Sugar Bowl vs. Baylor
Kentucky
- Gator Bowl vs. Indiana
LSU
- Fiesta Bowl (CFP) vs. Clemson
Mississippi State
- Texas Bowl vs. Oklahoma State
Tennessee
- Music City Bowl vs. Louisville
Texas A&M
- Belk Bowl vs. Virginia Tech
So basically Lsu is playing in the only one that matters…bowl games feel like pre season NFL games now .. especially with players sitting out and all…
Speak for yourself
I’d have to agree. It’s the time for teams to have a fighting chance against teams they would never come close to during the regular season (see Texas vs Georgia). While it may be exciting for those teams it’s pretty boring for everyone else who understands it’s really not that much of an accomplishment. I lump them more into the category of the NFL’s Pro-Bowl though. Pre-season actually has some merit in watching as you get to see how well players are progressing, especially 2nd and 3rd stringers, and get a feel for the upcoming season.
