Rick Neuheisel has picked out one Big Ten team in his projected College Football Playoff that may surprise some.

“Keep your eyes on the Buckeyes gentlemen,” he said on CBS Sports Network, as his co-hosts said he likes to project what’s to come soon.

Aaron Taylor and Randy Cross each moved Georgia into the top four, as Cross bumped out Notre Dame, and Taylor eliminated Michigan.

“I’m taking a snapshot of who’s playing good ball right now,” Taylor said. “I like the way Georgia’s playing, particularly considering all the injuries, they are still playing at an extremely high level.”

The quartet of analysts echoed arguments around the country as most people see Alabama and Clemson as the top two teams, but there are several arguments around the Big Ten representative, and if Georgia is worthy.

The Michigan-Ohio State game on Nov. 24 will answer one question, while the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 1 will answer another. But if there are upsets in either game, it will create a significant log jam of one-loss teams that many believe are worthy, and strength of schedule will be the next amplified argument to dissect.

Here are their picks:

Rick Neuheisel: Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio State.

Randy Cross: Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan.

Brian Jones: Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Michigan.

Aaron Taylor: Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Georgia.
