CBS Sports' post-Week 9 bowl projections feature 11 SEC teams
The 2020 SEC season is entering its final few weeks, so we know which teams appear to be bowl-worthy and which should probably sit this postseason out.
After the league’s Week 9 action, CBS Sports expert Jerry Palm updated his bowl projections, and he included 11 SEC teams.
As you can see below, he has Alabama going to the College Football Playoff. Every SEC team is projected to play this postseason except for Mississippi State, South Carolina and Vanderbilt:
Alabama
- Sugar Bowl (CFP) vs. Oregon
Arkansas
- Music City Bowl vs. Maryland
Auburn
- Citrus Bowl vs. Wisconsin
Florida
- Orange Bowl vs. Notre Dame
Georgia
- Sugar Bowl vs. Oklahoma
Kentucky
- Gator Bowl vs. Virginia
LSU
- Texas Bowl vs. Texas
Mizzou
- Birmingham Bowl vs. UAB
Ole Miss
- Las Vegas Bowl vs. Arizona State
Tennessee
- Liberty Bowl vs. West Virginia
Texas A&M
- Outback Bowl vs. Indiana
That’s a funny one, The Birmingham Bowl. I think they will go rouge and play Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Arizona State, Oklahoma State, Texas, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Minnesota, West Virginia, Florida State, BYU, Wyoming, well almost anyone before they play UAB.
There’s 2 sugar bowls?
I was wondering about that too. Is there going to be two Rose Bowls too since that’s the other CFP venue.
That was supposed to be the Cotton Bowl. I guess writers don’t have an edit button either.
Wouldn’t Texas A&M vs OK be more complelling?
Yes. They are all just guessing now. I don’t see LSU against Texas in that bowl game either. We aren’t at that level.
Pretty sure you talk to most Aggs and they really love a bowl game against any conference but the big xii.
