Chris Doering called his shot in July, but now, in November, he’s backing off of his bold prediction.

The SEC Network analyst was recently reminded of his July prediction that Kentucky would beat Georgia. Now, however, Doering doesn’t like the Wildcats to upset the Bulldogs.

There was a lot of optimism for Kentucky this offseason. The Wildcats won 10 games in 2021 and returned star RB Chris Rodriguez and starting QB Will Levis for the 2022 season.

Some key members of UK’s 2021 roster and staff, such as Wan’Dale Robinson and Liam Coen, appear to be sorely missed in 2022. Mark Stoops’ squad fell to 6-4 on Saturday after a stunning home upset loss to Vanderbilt, VU’s first SEC win since 2019.

Georgia, meanwhile, looks to have reloaded on both sides of the ball after losing numerous star players from the 2021 national championship squad. The Bulldogs are 10-0 and ranked No. 1 in both the AP Top 25 and College Football Playoff.

Kentucky hosts Georgia on Saturday. The game is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
