Cole Cubelic reveals post-Week 4 takeaways for each SEC team
Cole Cubelic released his weekly SEC takeaways for Week 4 in the conference, which was highlighted by Tennessee’s primetime takedown of Oklahoma in Norman on Saturday night.
The SEC Network analyst had plenty of storylines to delve into, even following a week when Georgia and Alabama were idle.
Five of the top 6 teams in Sunday’s new AP Poll are from the SEC, with Texas staying No. 1 after its pounding of Louisiana-Monroe. Georgia and Alabama remained No. 2 and No. 4, respectively, heading into their titanic Week 5 collision in Tuscaloosa. Tennessee moved up 1 spot to No. 5 after its victory over Oklahoma, while Ole Miss slid back 1 spot to No. 6 despite easily taking care of Georgia Southern.
Among the top 6 teams in the new AP Poll, No. 3 Ohio State is the lone team that’s not from the SEC.
Missouri fell 4 spots to No. 11 after escaping with an overtime victory over Vanderbilt at home. And we hadn’t even mentioned LSU’s national TV victory over UCLA, which moved the Tigers up 2 spots in the poll to No. 14.
Meanwhile, Cubelic called Auburn’s home loss to Arkansas “brutal,” said Florida “had to have” a win over Mississippi State, complimented Kentucky for handling its business against Ohio and, about that huge Tennessee win, said it was “more impressive than I think I could have imagined.”
Here’s a look at Cubelic’s full list of takeaways:

MISSOURI: Got the W. Stretch play got going. 8 is poetry in motion running it. 74 was tossing defenders. QB missed some check downs. It was there for the taking. Off on a couple throws also. Duo gave them the home run. Edge pressures gave a few problems. QB didn't press but maybe…

OLE MISS: Handled their business. QB on point. In full command. He is seeing things on a different level. Run game not great early. OL still a tad sloppy. 9 just tough to deal with, QB trusts him. 3 big time. DL consistent problem. 2 & 38 dominant. 51 did some nice things. 4 & 1…

TENNESSEE: More impressive than I think I could have imagined. Mainly on defense. Just dominant. 10 right out of the gate. 55, 51, 27, 42 all wreaked havoc. The closing speed of 7 & 11 on the QB was wow worthy. The success in man coverage made a huge difference. Outside the long…

TEXAS A&M: Handled their business. Good plan for young, athletic QB. Deliberate throws. Move pocket. Use legs. Another nice TD catch for 17 up the seam. 82 helped in run game. QB looked more confident pushing ball down the field. Did seem to rush a few. Couple throws he'd like…

VANDERBILT: Tough loss. Hung around. DL caused some problems. 5 rerouted some runs. Nice plan flashing safeties to the box vs run. Tackled well for most part. Duo gave them issues. 10 made some plays. Made their off work. Prevented most of the YAC. Bad pitch early. Fumble…

Vandy let one escape them. But Clark Lea still has this team playing well…leaps and bounds better than before. Hate they lost to Georgia State or they’d be real contenders to win 6. Still not out of the question since there are winnable games against Kentucky, Ball State, South Carolina, Auburn.
Coaches poll value LSU more at 13 while media pegs them 14.
