Two of the top quarterbacks taken in the 2020 NFL Draft, Tua Tagovailoa and Joe Burrow, will come from the SEC.

But, the question is whether the Alabama star or the LSU Heisman winner will have the better pro career. Burrow is currently being projected as the No. 1 overall pick for the Cincinnati Bengals, with Tagovailoa being projected as a potential top 5 pick.

On Tuesday, FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd explained why he thinks Tagovailoa will have the better NFL career:

“If you get drafted as a quarterback in the NFL and they like you, you are trapped for 7 years,” he said. “They can franchise tag you, transition tag you. … Tua’s going to have a better career than Joe Burrow. Why? Because of where he lands. Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson are going to have better careers, probably, than Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold because of where they land. You get trapped. I believe Joe Burrow has to push back. As long as this ownership is in place, it’s a cheap franchise, it’s dysfunctional. … Joe Burrow, it’s time to make a tough decision. I’ll say it again — I think he should pull an Elway, I think he should pull an Eli.”

This has been a hotly debated topic in recent days, and it won’t be going away anytime soon. We’ll find out what Burrow decides in April.
