College football bowl projections: ESPN’s preseason predictions include 12 SEC teams

The 2022 college football season is quickly approaching, with Week 0 games kicking off on Saturday, Aug. 27.

Ahead of the 2022 campaign, ESPN experts Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach released their preseason bowl projections.

As you can see below, they had both Alabama and Georgia qualifying for the College Football Playoff and had 12 total SEC teams projected to qualify for postseason play.

Here are the SEC-related predictions from ESPN:

Alabama

  • Bonagura: Peach Bowl (CFP) vs. Clemson
  • Schlabach: Peach Bowl (CFP) vs. Clemson

Arkansas

  • Bonagura: Liberty Bowl vs. TCU
  • Schlabach: ReliaQuest Bowl vs. Wisconsin

Auburn

  • Bonagura: Music City Bowl vs. Penn State
  • Schlabach: None

Florida

  • Bonagura: Gator Bowl vs. Miami
  • Schlabach: Liberty Bowl vs. Kansas State

Georgia

  • Bonagura: Fiesta Bowl (CFP) vs. Ohio State
  • Schlabach: Fiesta Bowl (CFP) vs. Ohio State

Kentucky

  • Bonagura: Citrus Bowl vs. Wisconsin
  • Schlabach: Citrus Bowl vs. Penn State

LSU

  • Bonagura: ReliaQuest Bowl vs. Michigan State
  • Schlabach: Gator Bowl vs. Louisville

Mississippi State

  • Bonagura: Birmingham Bowl vs. Washington State
  • Schlabach: Birmingham Bowl vs. Charlotte

Ole Miss

  • Bonagura: Las Vegas Bowl vs. UCLA
  • Schlabach: Texas Bowl vs. Iowa State

South Carolina

  • Bonagura: None
  • Schlabach: Music City Bowl vs. Minnesota

Tennessee

  • Bonagura: Texas Bowl vs. Iowa State
  • Schlabach: Las Vegas Bowl vs. UCLA

Texas A&M

  • Bonagura: Sugar Bowl vs. Oklahoma
  • Schlabach: Sugar Bowl vs. Oklahoma
