College football coach may not survive program's latest turmoil
The college football coaching carousel might not be done just yet!
On Wednesday, Arizona State DC Antonio Pierce reportedly resigned his position to pursue NFL opportunities.
But, as Pete Thamel notes, Pierce is the fifth Sun Devil assistant implicated in the dead period recruiting allegations to resign in the wake of the scandal:
Sources: Arizona State defensive coordinator Antonio Pierce is expected to resign from his position. He plans to seek NFL opportunities. He's the fifth ASU coach implicated in the NCAA dead period allegations to leave the ASU staff.

Now, it seems head coach Herm Edwards could be facing some consequences. Per CFB insider Bruce Feldman, it’s looking “increasingly likely” that Edwards could be replaced by Arizona State:
With half his coaching staff (including his right-hand man) being forced out in the wake of a lengthy NCAA investigation, and with ex-staffers who have connected Herm Edwards directly to violations, it's increasingly likely that ASU may have no choice but to make a HC change.

Edwards has been at Arizona State for 4 seasons. He has amassed a record of 25-18 in that time, going 1-2 in bowl games.
We’ll see what the future holds, but Edwards’ seat seems to be red-hot right now.
