College football player gets hit with flag in very unfortunate area
A Memphis football player took an unfortunate hit in the Tigers’ game against Charlotte on Saturday.
The hit didn’t occur during the play, nor was it handed to him by an opposing player. Instead, he took a nasty hit from the referee’s flag. After the play, the player was walking back to get set when a flag thrown by the referee hit him directly below the belt. He was obviously shaken up by the thrown flag, and for good reason. Those flags may not look heavy, but with enough velocity, they’re sure to have some impact.
