College football player, son of former NFLer, passes away at age 21 from reported COVID-19 complications

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact people across the globe, and sadly, on Tuesday, it claimed the life of a college football player.

Per a post on Facebook from Central Catholic High School, California University of Pennsylvania DL Jamain Stephens — the son of former NFL player Jamain Stephens — has passed away at the age of 21.

The post, which you can see below, says that Stephens died from complications of COVID-19:

The California University of Pennsylvania AD praised Stephens’ bright personality in a press release:

“Jamain was such a wonderful student with a smile on his face every time you saw him,” said Athletic Director Dr. Karen Hjerpe. “His personality was contagious and he made such a positive impact on everyone he met.”

Stephens played in all 11 games last season as a backup defensive lineman and on special teams. He recorded 3 tackles.
