Now that we’re in the era of the College Football Playoff, there are six bowl games that rotate serving as the semifinal matchups — the Cotton Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Peach Bowl and Orange Bowl.

On Friday, it was announced that three of those games — the Cotton, Fiesta and Peach Bowls — had extended their affiliation with the Playoff for six more years.

Bill Hancock, the executive director of the Playoff, said in a release he’s happy to have those three cities extending their connection to the event:

“These bowl games have provided a quality experience for the student-athletes and fans for many years, including the first four seasons of the CFP, and we know that will continue,” said Hancock. “The communities of greater Dallas, Phoenix and Atlanta have fully embraced the opportunity to be a part of this very popular event and to showcase the unique opportunities they offer to visitors.”

This year, the two semifinal games will be the Cotton Bowl and the Orange Bowl. Next season, the Fiesta and Peach Bowls will be the semifinals.

The new agreements go through the 2026 season.
