The college football season technically starts today, but the SEC season doesn’t really get going until next weekend.

Still, ahead of the Week 0 slate of games, College GameDay hosted a preview show, and analysts Desmond Howard, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit made their SEC title game and College Football Playoff picks.

As you can see below, Herbstreit was the only one to pick an SEC team to win the title, while Howard had some of the bolder picks we’ve seen this summer:

Desmond Howard:

  • SEC title game: Alabama over South Carolina
  • CFP teams: Michigan, Alabama, Clemson, West Virginia
  • National champion: Michigan

Lee Corso:

  • SEC title game: Georgia over Alabama
  • CFP teams: Clemson, Wisconsin, Georgia, Washington
  • National champion: Wisconsin

Kirk Herbstreit:

  • SEC title game: Alabama over Georgia
  • CFP teams: Alabama, Clemson, Penn State, Washington
  • National champion: Alabama

We’ll get our first look at these teams next weekend, and it’ll be exciting to keep tabs on some of the top teams in the country as the season wears on.
