College GameDay is coming to Norman for Tennessee-Oklahoma in Week 4.

ESPN’s flagship pregame show announced that decision on Saturday evening. This move is not a surprise given that ABC announced this game would kickoff in primetime last week.

With Oklahoma’s win over Tulane and Tennessee’ hot start in the first half on Saturday vs. Kent State, GameDay made the news official:

GameDay will be in Norman to mark Oklahoma’s first-ever SEC contest. Sooner fans have been waiting for more than 2 years to play an official SEC game — and that wait will finally end on Saturday night under the lights at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

Oklahoma has a long history with College GameDay being on campus, but this will be the show’s first trip there (with fans) since Oct. 27, 2012 when Manti Te’o and Notre Dame took down the Sooners. GameDay was also on campus for Bedlam in 2020 during the pandemic.

This will be the 9th time for Oklahoma to host College GameDay and OU’s 41st appearance overall on the show. The Sooners are 27-13 all-time with GameDay on location.

For Tennessee, this will be the 25th all-time appearance for the Vols on the show. Tennessee was a small favorite over OU in Vegas earlier this week, but that is subject to change when the Week 4 betting markets re-open on Sunday.
