College GameDay personality pulled off the air after arrest, per report
Harry Lyles Jr., a rising star at ESPN, has been removed from his duties following an arrest last week.
The New York Post has reported that Lyles had a DUI arrest after last week’s program in Los Angeles to preview the Oregon-UCLA game.
Lyles Jr., also a writer for ESPN.com, is a sideline reporter on ESPN’s Thursday night games, as well as a host on GameDay’s social media edition on Saturdays.
An LAPD spokesman confirmed to The Post it was Lyles. His bail was set at $100,000. He was released on bond. He is due in court on Feb. 24.
“We are aware of the situation and are addressing the matter directly,” ESPN said in a statement.
Last night, 2 of our officers were stopped at a marked crosswalk as a pedestrian crossed the street. While they were stopped, a vehicle rear ended the back of their car. The driver of that vehicle was nearly 3 x the legal limit and subsequently arrested. pic.twitter.com/1rnBJKxQco
