Colorado State DB Henry Blackburn made some people angry after injuring Travis Hunter in Week 3. Some people took things too far after sending death threats to Blackburn and his family, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Colorado State AD Joe Parker commented on the situation, urging those involved to stop.

“We’re very concerned about our player’s safety, as Henry and his family have continued to receive these threats,” Parker told ESPN. “Henry never intended to put anyone in harm’s way on the football field. It’s not what we teach or coach. We hope that the irrational vitriol directed at Henry stops immediately.”

Head coach Jay Norvell addressed the injury by saying that hits like that can happen in a game sometimes, wishing Hunter a speedy recovery. Hunter is expected to be out for at least 3-4 weeks with a lacerated liver.

Colorado went on to beat its in-state rival 43-35 on Saturday in overtime. Hunter recorded 21 yards receiving and 2 total tackles before leaving the game.

Regardless of the play that occurred, it’s sad that people feel the need to attack someone’s family.

Colorado’s next challenge will be facing Oregon in Eugene. Kickoff between the Ducks and Buffaloes will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC Saturday.
