Connor Shaw spent 3 games in the 2020 season as South Carolina’s QB coach after Will Muschamp was fired and Mike Bobo took over as interim coach.
Otherwise, since 2020, he’s been the school’s Director of Football Operations. But, on Wednesday, it was reported that Shaw was stepping down from that position.
On Wednesday afternoon, Shaw released a video statement confirming the report:

“This decision to step away from the football program is solely because of the conviction that I have that this is the best situation for me and my family,” Shaw said. “I promise you this — I’m not going too far. I’ll still be here in Columbia. I’ll still be very close to the football program, continue to support coach (Shane) Beamer. I’m very grateful for what he’s done for that football program so far.”
We’ll see how involved he remains with the program in the coming years.
