How big of a deal was it to learn that Trevor Lawrence had tested positive for COVID?

Following the news, the national championship odds have been shifted slightly against his Clemson team.

According to SportsBetting.com, Clemson’s odds dropped from +120 to +150 following the news.

If you missed it, Lawrence shared the following statement following his positive test result:

“I have tested positive for COVID-19, and my symptoms have been relatively mild while I’m following the protocol from Clemson and the ACC. The only thing that hurts is missing the opportunity to be with my teammates this weekend and play the game I love. I hate that I can’t be there, but I’ll be watching from isolation and pulling for our guys while I wait for the opportunity [to] rejoin the team. God bless and Go Tigers!”

Lawrence has been ruled out for Clemson’s upcoming game against Boston College but could play next weekend at Notre Dame, however, that is yet to be determined.

Here are the updated national title odds from SportsBetting.com:

Clemson +150
Alabama +250
Ohio State +300
Georgia +1200
Florida +2500
Michigan +3300
Notre Dame +4500
Texas A&M +5000
Wisconsin +6000
BYU +6600
Oklahoma State +8000
Oregon +8000
