Dan Mullen has traded in the sidelines for the studio, joining ESPN last year after getting let go by Florida.

Now, he’s a top analyst for the Worldwide Leader, and after Week 2 action on Saturday, he posted his new top 25 rankings.

As you can see below, Mullen has been thoroughly impressed by Texas, moving the Longhorns to No. 1 in his rankings after a 10-point road win at No. 3 Alabama on Saturday night:

Two-time reigning national champion Georgia is at No. 3 in his rankings. Alabama fell all the way to No. 18 following the loss to the Longhorns.

Here are the 5 SEC teams that cracked Mullen’s rankings:

  • No. 3 — Georgia
  • No. 10 — Tennessee
  • No. 18 — Alabama
  • No. 20 — Ole Miss
  • No. 23 — Mississippi State

Notably absent from the list is LSU. Can the Tigers (and other SEC schools) overcome slow starts to the season to rise up the rankings? We’ll see what happens in Week 3 action this coming weekend.
