Danny Kanell goes on lengthy Twitter rant over Playoff matchups, Alabama selection

It’s safe to say not everyone was a fan of two SEC teams making the final four in the College Football Playoff.
The 2017 Playoff field was officially set on Sunday with Clemson, Oklahoma, and Georgia occupying the top three spots after winning a conference championship on Saturday. The fourth and final spot went to Alabama despite not playing in the SEC Championship.
In the end, Alabama’s lone loss and resume was selected over two-loss Big 10 champion Ohio State. Both teams had solid resumes, but the exclusion of Ohio State means that a two-loss team has yet to make the final four.
Two SEC teams in the final four is certainly a strong accomplishment for the conference, but not everyone was happy about the selections. Former Florida State QB and current analyst Danny Kanell was clearly not a fan of the final four teams and went off on the Playoff system and SEC on Twitter.
Here’s a look at his rant:
This thing we call a "Playoff" is really nothing different than the Maui Invitational or the PK80 in hoops. To call it a "playoff" is dishonest. It's not.

SEC breaks the internet regardless of who’s #4. For better or worse…

Clearly, going on the road to Starkville and needing a 4th quarter drive to beat Miss State is enough to impress.

Totally agree that teams that lose by 30 points shouldn’t be allowed in!!!
Ummm.. UGa has a loss by 31 ???

(Georgia’s deficit in the 40-17 loss to Auburn this season was not 31 points, a fact he would later realize.)
So your 2017 Made For TV Ratings Invitational will be:
1. Clemson vs 4. Bama
2. Oklahoma vs 3. Georgia

Lol. All you SEC fans acting like 40-17 isn’t a blowout ???. But hey, SEC gets passes like NO other conference. #math

What a fantastic system…in the second straight year the “4th best team” gets a BYE week leading into Invitational ?

Maybe you guys should rebrand as the Bama Network??? https://t.co/0F9n5fYMaR

Everyone is more than entitled to their own opinion, but each team in the Playoff does have a solid resume on its side. The Playoff semifinals should also provide exciting games for fans of college football.
