Love them or hate them, bowl games are seemingly here to stay.

This year, there were 42 bowl games originally scheduled, though some have had to be canceled or altered due to COVID-19 issues.

Still, when there are bowl games pitting 6-6 teams against one another, some in the media, like noted SEC troll Danny Kanell, aren’t always happy about it.

That led to a heated Twitter exchange this week, as SEC Network analyst Greg McElroy called out Kanell for saying bowl season should be contracted:

Kanell didn’t take McElroy’s response lying down, though. He questioned why McElroy held the stance he held:

This debate isn’t going away any time soon. For now, we’ll continue to have dozens of bowl games every year. We’ll see what happens if and when the College Football Playoff expands, though.
