Danny Kanell puts 3 SEC teams in his top 8, has Ohio State surprisingly low

On Tuesday night, the second College Football Playoff rankings of the 2020 season will be released.
It’s almost guaranteed that Alabama and Notre Dame will be the top 2 teams. Beyond that? Well, we could see some shuffling in the rankings.
On Sunday morning, CBS Sports analyst Danny Kanell released his list of top teams. As you can see below, he included 3 SEC teams in his top 8. And, you’ll note, he’s also much lower on the Ohio State Buckeyes than most:

5. Texas AM
6. Florida
7. Ohio State

Most analysts believe the Buckeyes are a top 4 team. However, after having another game canceled due to COVID-19 concerns this week, Ohio State is in real danger of missing the Big Ten Championship Game.
We’ll see what happens moving forward, but the Playoff committee will have a lot to discuss with regards to the rankings this week.
