Danny Kanell's updated top 8 rankings include 1 notable SEC omission
The Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs played one of the best games of the 2020 football season on Saturday night, but a big second half helped the Crimson Tide pull away for a 41-24 victory.
So, it appears Alabama is the class of the SEC, and 1 of the top 2 teams in the country alongside Clemson.
On Sunday morning, former FSU QB-turned-analyst Danny Kanell released his top 8 rankings, and Clemson and Alabama were indeed the top 2 teams. He also had Florida at No. 7.
But, as you can see below, the Bulldogs were noticeably absent from the list:
What a great college football season it’s been so far. It’s only going to get better. Welcome back Big Ten!!
Brand new #DKtop8
1. Clemson
2. Bama
3. Ohio State
4. Notre Dame
5. Penn State
6. Oklahoma St
7. Florida
8. BYU— Danny Kanell (@dannykanell) October 18, 2020
The Bulldogs held a halftime lead over the No. 2 team in the country, but can’t crack the top 8? That seems strange, especially when Florida was off this week and most recently lost at Texas A&M.
Can Georgia fight its way back into the top 8? We’ll find out next Sunday when Kanell updates his rankings once again.
