Texas A&M and Auburn are locked in a defensive battle in College Station in an SEC West showdown and matchup of top-15 teams.
Neither team could manage a touchdown in the opening 30 minutes, as the game went to halftime in a 3-3 tie.
The No. 14 Aggies had a chance to take the lead into intermission, but Seth Small misfired on a 42-yard field goal attempt late in the 2nd quarter.
No. 13 Auburn managed just 108 total yards in the first half, while A&M didn’t fare much better, finishing with just 162 yards.
Said Auburn coach Bryan Harsin on CBS heading into halftime, “Both defenses are playing well. We gotta figure out some things that we can do to move the ball and score touchdowns, put points on the board. Continue with what we’re doing on defense, make some adjustments, but keep playing physical.”
In modern college football, a defensive slugfest like this one is rare, but college football fans on social media had plenty of admiration for the work of both defenses.
