Deion Sanders and Eddie Robinson Jr. had a quick and bitter post-game handshake on Saturday after Jackson State won its 12th straight SWAC game over Alabama State.

Sanders and the Tigers won 26-12, and it appeared by the body language that Sanders was surprised with Robinson’s reaction as he extended his arm following the handshake, and immediately turned away.

HBCU Sports reported that Sanders before the game lamented that Jackson State was a homecoming opponent for the game.

The Tigers remained undefeated on the season, while the Hornets slipped to 3-3 and 1-2 in the SWAC. Alabama State was led by Myles Crawley who went 10-for-17 for 74 yards. The Tigers (5-0, 3-0 SWAC) were led by Shedeur Sanders who went 30-of-46 for 332 yards and three touchdowns, the Montgomery Advertiser reported.

Sanders’ entered Saturday with just over 100 yards rushing on the season, but he used his legs when it mattered most against ASU, the Clarion-Ledger reported. Leading 17-12 in the fourth quarter on a critical drive, Sanders scrambled 3 times for 26 yards and threw the ball to J.D. Martin, who went into the end zone untouched because of great ball placement.
