Deion Sanders reaction: CFB fans, media react to No. 1 2022 recruit signing with Jackson State
Deion Sanders flipped the No. 1 overall 2022 recruit, Travis Hunter, a cornerback out of Suwanee, Georgia (Collins Hill) near Atlanta, as he changed his mind from Florida State.
Hunter had been committed to Florida State since March, but Coach Prime and Jackson State pulled off the flip in dramatic fashion. Hunter at his announcement ceremony tossed hats from Georgia and Florida State before he put on a Jackson State hat, and other clothing.
Fans and media alike discussed what a gamechanger it is for Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Here’s a sampling of how fans and media reacted to Sanders’ decision:

if Travis Hunter (#1 player in highschool football) flips from FSU to Jackson State, that’s a HUUUUGE dub for HBCU’s

Was just on the phone with an FBS head coach a bit ago who asked me when Travis Hunter was going to announce that he was going to play for Deion Sanders and an HBCU. Next words out of his mouth: “This will be a game-changer.”
