Dennis Dodd’s Week 6 ‘Heisman Hype’ list includes quartet of SEC players

Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports released his latest “Heisman Hype” list of the players he feels are currently out in front of the Heisman Trophy race.
Atop Dodd’s list this week is Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud, but 4 SEC players made the cut this time around. At No. 3 is Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers, in front of Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker at No. 4. Hooker has an excellent opportunity to further build his Heisman case on Saturday as the Volunteers face Alabama. Meanwhile, Rogers and the Bulldogs take on Kentucky.
A pair of Crimson Tide players come in at Nos. 8 and 9 on Dodd’s list: running back Jahmyr Gibbs and linebacker Will Anderson Jr. Just like Hooker for the Vols, they have a strong chance to make a further Heisman case with a top 6 battle brewing in Knoxville.
One notable outside the SEC is Michigan running back Blake Corum. Corum and the No. 5 Wolverines host No. 10 Penn State in Ann Arbor on Saturday.
