On Monday evening, it was reported that the Mountain West Conference was cancelling its fall sports seasons, including football.
That would include the Air Force Falcons, who are members of the Mountain West. However, that doesn’t mean the Falcons won’t play at all during the 2020 season.
Per Stadium’s Brett McMurphy, Air Force AD Nate Pine said the school could still pursue games against other service academies in Army and Navy:
Air Force AD @Nate_Pine says despite Mountain West canceling fall football season Air Force “will have the opportunity to continue to explore competitions against Army & Navy, if conditions allow as we have similar physical missions across the service academies”

That would mean the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy would still be up for grabs for all 3 schools in 2020, which is exciting news.
Air Force last won the trophy during the 2016 season, beating both Army and Navy. Last year, the Falcons beat Army but lost to Navy as the Midshipmen claimed the trophy.
