DFS Picks of the Week: Our top Underdog plays for college football and NFL, Oct. 7-8

The college football slate for Week 6 is absolutely awesome. Texas-Oklahoma, Georgia-Kentucky, Alabama-Texas A&M, Mizzou-LSU, Notre Dame-Louisville … the list goes on and on.

The NFL Week 5 slate? Eh, not as great. Minnesota-Kansas City and Jacksonville-Buffalo might be the best games of the Sunday main slate. Sunday Night Football between the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers should be a banger, though!

Our DFS experts, Andrew Olson and Adam Spencer, scour the Underdog Fantasy app and make 3 CFB picks and 2 NFL picks each every week.

Get in on the action at Underdog and tail or fade Andrew and Adam! Just make sure to get those picks in before kickoff on Saturday and Sunday.

Our Week 6 College Football Picks

Andrew Olson

Adonai Mitchell, Texas: Higher than 68.5 receiving yards

The Missouri City, Texas, native is playing in his first Red River Rivalry. As we saw in the Texas-Alabama game, Mitchell has a knack for showing up on the big stage. I like him to show out at the Texas State Fair.

Jalen Milroe, Alabama: Lower than 199.5 passing yards

After his post-Texas benching, Milroe has looked improved against Ole Miss at home and Mississippi State on the road. Texas A&M at Kyle Field, however, is a different animal. I doubted the Texas A&M defense following the Miami debacle, but the Aggies have figured things out.

Brock Bowers, Georgia: Higher than 0.5 rushing+receiving TDs

The Bowers hype train is rolling again after another big game from the one-of-a-kind tight end. Kentucky will want to contain Georgia’s offensive MVP, but stopping Bowers is easier said than done. I especially like this pick with the rushing TD option considering the way Bowers can be used near the goal line.

Dillon Gabriel, Oklahoma: Higher than 264.5 passing yards

Oklahoma is the biggest challenge Texas will face in the Big 12. Why? Because of Dillon Gabriel, who is having an outstanding year leading the Sooners’ offense. Expect him to throw early and often on Saturday for the Red River Showdown. This could be a shootout.

Xavier Worthy, Texas: Higher than 73.5 receiving yards

Worthy caught all 7 of his targets for 90+ yards last week against Kansas. He’s the Longhorns’ top pass-catching option and if they want to force Oklahoma to keep up offensively, they’ll target Worthy even more this weekend. Expect a lot of passes from both sides on Saturday in Dallas.

Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss: Higher than 261.5 passing yards

The Arkansas defense hasn’t been great once again this year. Ole Miss’s offense has been dominant outside of the Alabama loss. Dart is playing some of his best football, and there should be plenty of passing lanes available to him early and often in this one.

Our Week 5 NFL Picks

Andrew Olson

De’Von Achane, Miami Dolphins: Higher than 0.5 rushing + receiving TDs

Achane is turning heads with a sensational start to his rookie season. The Giants defense is near the bottom of the league with 7 rushing scores allowed. Achane adds to those woes.

Tony Pollard, Dallas Cowboys: Higher than 55.5 rushing yards

Pollard is coming off a light week, but it wasn’t a typical game with the way the blowout unfolded. In a marquee matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, this is the type of game the Cowboys should want to establish Pollard early. I like Pollard’s workload to get him to 56 yards.

Adam Spencer

Ezekiel Elliott, New England: Higher than 0.5 rushing+receiving TDs

Zeke is expected to get a starter’s workload this weekend as Rhamondre Stevenson continues to struggle. That means Zeke should finally get into the end zone again. It might be a low-scoring game against the Saints, but the Patriots will find a way to get Elliott into the end zone at least once.

Chris Olave, New Orleans: Lower than 62.5 receiving yards

As mentioned, I believe the Patriots-Saints game will be a low-scoring affair. For all the struggles the Patriots have had this year, the defense has been a bright spot. Even in last week’s 38-3 loss to Dallas, Mac Jones and the offense put the New England defense in tough situations. With Derek Carr still a bit banged up, New England’s defense will lock down New Orleans WR1 Chris Olave on Sunday.
