Dirtiest block of the year? Texas Tech player’s block could have led to serious injury

Changes of possession during a play are dangerous in college football. That’s because you have offensive players trying to make tackles and hard-hitting defenders trying to make blocks.
That led to a seemingly dirty play on Saturday between Texas Tech and Oklahoma.
As you can see below, Oklahoma’s Kennedy Brooks got taken out by a Tech defender on what appeared to be a very dirty low block.

The defender probably should have been ejected for that hit, but wasn’t. Perhaps the Big 12 office will have something to say about it next week.
Brooks was fortunately able to walk off under his own power, but we’ll see if he’s affected by the hit moving forward.
