Division III Presidents Council announces fall championships are canceled

While conferences at the FBS level are still planning on moving forward with football this fall, many smaller conferences, particularly those at the Division III level, have already postponed fall sports.
Thus, it comes as no surprise that, on Wednesday, the DIII Presidents Council announced that fall championships would not be played this year.
As you can see below, the council cited the COVID-19 pandemic and related financial challenges as the driving force for the cancellations:

North Central (IL) won the Division III football title in 2019, so it appears they’ll reign as champions until at least 2021.
Now, we’ll wait to see what the Division II and Division I leaders decide to do with their fall championships.
