Things were already interesting heading into LSU’s trip to Florida this weekend as the rivalry game between the two annual opponents was already the best conference game on paper for Week 6. Then things really started to heat up when Les Miles publicly challenged Steve Spurrier to a bet on Twitter.

Spurrier responded and accepted Miles’ challenge and now there’s some grass eatin’ and visor wearing on the line for each respective coach. Now, thanks to Dos Equis, things could be taken up a notch with fans of both schools now having more than just bragging rights on the line.

If you didn’t know already, Spurrier is currently being paid as a spokesman for Dos Equis, so there would appear to be more to this challenge than simply a brand trying to get its name out there heading into the LSU-Florida game. The beverage brand is offering to buy free alcohol for the winning fan base at a few nearby bars in either Gainesville or Baton Rouge.

This should add another level of intrigue for local fans this weekend as the price they pay for their postgame beverage could be on the line depending on the results from the Swamp on Saturday.
