Eric Karner is beginning to narrow down his list potential future programs.

On Thursday morning, Karner announced his top 5 programs. His list includes a trio of SEC teams: Alabama, Florida and Texas A&M. He’s also still considering Iowa and Michigan State.

Here’s his announcement:

Karner is from Elmhurst, Illinois. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 220 pounds.

He would be a big pickup for any of those SEC programs in the class of 2024. He’s currently ranked as the No. 587 overall player and the No. 28 tight end, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 14 player from the state of Illinois.

Karner’s ranking is likely to improve in the coming months. Since the beginning of April, he has received offers from programs such as Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Louisville, Florida, Purdue, Michigan State and Iowa, amongst others.

Of the 3 SEC teams in his top 5, Florida currently has the highest overall team ranking. The Gators are No. 11 nationally and have 4 commitments from top-50 prospects.
