ESPN updated its projection for which 12 teams will make the College Football Playoff on Sunday morning.

Heather Dinich penned the story — which was posted Sunday morning — highlighting how shocking it was to see Notre Dame lose to Northern Illinois as 4-touchdown favorites at home.

“Even if the Irish do fix things, it might not be enough to to make the CFP-selection committee ignore this giant stain on their resume,” Dinich wrote.

With two weeks of the college football season in the rearview mirror, ESPN is projecting 6 SEC teams to make the cut for the 12-team Playoff. Georgia is listed at No. 1 overall, Texas is at the No. 2 spot after the Longhorns’ massive road win over Michigan and Ole Miss has impressed at the No. 4 spot after a strong first two weeks of 2024.

The SEC also has Alabama at No. 9, Tennessee at No. 10 and Missouri in the No. 11 spot.
